Greg Barrett
President and Chief Executive Officer
Greg Barrett has more than 30 years of medical device experience, working primarily in the fields of gastroenterology, urology, cardiology, gynecology and general minimally invasive surgery. Prior to joining BÂRRX Medical, Inc., Barrett served as president and CEO of ACMI Corp. Barrett was previously a group Vice President at Boston Scientific Corp. with responsibilities at various times over the Microvasive Endoscopy, Microvasive Urology and Intercontinental International businesses. Barrett has also held the position of Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing at both Orthofix Corp. (formerly American Medical Electronics) and Baxter Healthcare. He also spent 13 years at C.R. Bard Corp. and finished his tenure as Vice President of Marketing in the cardiosurgery division.
Barrett holds a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Texas, Austin. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for BaroSense, Inc.

David S. Utley, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
David S. Utley has been Chief Medical Officer at BÂRRX Medical, Inc. since 2003. Prior to joining the company, Utley served as Chief Medical Officer and founder of Curon Medical, Inc. Prior to this position, he was the Medical Director at Somnus Medical Tech. Over the course of his career, Utley has published 27 papers and currently holds over 39 U.S. patents with another 48 patents pending. In 1997, he was appointed Staff Surgeon at VA Palo Alto Health Care System and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanford University Medical School. He is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has an active California medical license.
Utley earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and received a B.A. with highest distinction from the Pennsylvania State University.

Viorica (Vivi) Filimon EE, RAC
Vice President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs
Vivi Filimon brings more than two decades of medical device experience, with expertise in the fields of Engineering and Quality and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining BÂRRX Medical, Inc., Filimon served as Senior Director of Regulatory and Quality Affairs for Intuitive Surgical, Inc., Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at Curon Medical Inc. and Director of Quality at EndoTex Interventional Systems Inc. Filimon spent over a decade in the field of Quality Engineering at Boston Scientific-Target Therapeutics, Inc., Toshiba America MRI, and Adlar Turnkey Manufacturing Co.
Filimon holds an MSEE and a BSEE from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest-Electrical Engineering Department Bucharest, Romania, as well as being RAC Certified.

Robert Haggerty
Vice President, Sales
With more than 20 years experience in medical device sales, Robert Haggerty is well suited for the role of Vice President of Sales at BÂRRX Medical, Inc.
Prior to joining the company, Haggerty served as Director of National Accounts for ACMI Group (a division of Gyrus Group). Haggerty was previously the area Vice President of Sales at Purchasepro.com and the Director of Sales at Boston Scientific Corporation-Microvasive Endoscopy. Additionally, Haggerty spent six years with Proctor and Gamble.
Haggerty holds BS in Business from Wake Forest University.

Richard Short
Vice President, Finance and Materials
Richard Short has 25 years of accounting experience, most recently as Corporate Controller for Kyphon, Inc. from 2000 to 2005. Prior to Kyphon he held various positions at Boston Scientific, including Director of Supply Chain Planning and Assistant Division Controller. Short began his medical device career with Stryker Endoscopy in 1991. Prior to Stryker he held various accounting and auditing positions with FMC Corp. over a 9 year period.
Short holds a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and was registered as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Illinois in 1982. He was issued a Certificate in Production and Inventory Management by the American Production and Inventory Control Society in 1994.
